喇沙劍團搔15年之癢

【明報專訊】在一片刀光劍影和熱烈的歡呼聲下，港九區學界(第一組)劍擊團體賽周日在灣仔新伊館結束，喇沙書院和拔萃男書院最後同分並列男子團體冠軍，前者更是自1990年後再度奪魁。能夠重溫15年前的美夢，箇中因由與現任工商及科技局長曾俊華有密切關係。

曾俊華局長多年前原是喇沙的劍擊高手，1990年喇沙校隊榮登港九區學界男子總冠軍寶座，便是由曾局長義務帶隊。15年後的今天，當年披上校隊戰衣的喇沙劍手已成為軍師，而曾局長亦會間中到母校指導劍擊選手，是幕後功臣之一。

同屬喇沙舊生的現任劍擊隊領隊岑志遠老師表示﹕「曾局長閒時會回到母校，指導一班學弟的劍擊技術，得到名人的指點和鼓勵，對提高校隊士氣和戰意有莫大幫助。」在比賽當日曾局長由於身處南韓開會，未能與師弟並肩作戰，但岑志遠透露，他們已第一時間將好消息以手機短訊通知。

闊別團體冠軍15年，岑老師卻指這是個「早來一步的錦標」，他說﹕「賽前跟教練們預計明年才能摘下錦標，豈料隊員演出神勇，特別是男子重劍隊在決賽力壓新法書院，幾名隊員年紀較輕，但仍能擊敗對方的甲組劍手。」

女拔壓協恩奪冠

就讀中四的重劍隊隊長朱加軒賽後直言，從去年的「小師弟」變成今年的「大師兄」，壓力實不少﹕「去年兩位主將梁志文和吳俊廷中七畢業，領軍工作交由我負責，由於年紀較輕，實戰經驗不多，取勝確有點意外。」另一邊廂的拔萃男書院，拿獎盃同樣喜不自勝，隊長任家駿亦指﹕「新法書院一直是劍擊大贏家，我們失卻團體冠軍3年，今年終於如願以嘗，可謂吐氣揚眉。」

女子組方面，拔萃女書院勇奪花劍及重劍錦標，加上佩劍得一席亞軍，終以兩冠一亞的成績，從協恩中學手上奪回團體冠軍，協恩則得次席，去年團體殿軍中華基督教會基智中學亦殺入三甲。

Two lessons learnt,
1. My 300D’s LCD screen is definitely too bright. As a result I underexposed quite a few of the shots.
2. Using AI Servo is a bad idea for sports like frisbee and football. Since players’ movements are multi-dimensional the camera losses its focus too easily.

Furthermore, I should check if the UV filter is lowering my Bigma’s focusing capabilities…

My Dell Axim x50v PDA with Koss KSC75 Headphones

It is such a great thing that PDA can be used as a MP3 player–yeah I actually started listening to music on-the-go after I got my new PDA. Yet it was hardly an easy task at the begining; nothing wrong with the PDA–it is the headphones that caused so much trouble. Now I would certainly say choosing headphones is an art. Here is a mini review of the headphones I have tried:

Koss P4 Price: Cheapest ($4.99) Sound: Decent quality; no leakage Egronomics: Comfortable but the foam covers easily fall off; earbugs are not convenient carrying around

Sony MDR-J10 Price: Medium ($9.99) Sound: Barely acceptable quality; no leakage Egronomics: Very comfortable and convenient

Koss KSC75 Price: Most expensive ($13.99) Sound: Very good; heavy leakage Egronomics: Surprising comfortable

I first got the Koss P4; it is decent but the foam covers are too much of a trouble. I exchanged it for the Sony MDR-J10 expecting good sound qualify from Sony–not so, even though it is very comfortable and convenient. In end I went for KSC75, which despite its heavy sound leakage really makes listening to music enjoyable.

To everyone who has my cellphone number–I have just changed it to 510-277-2863. Thank you for your attention.

Concerning the “EBay over-bidding Mystery” Akerlof’s suggestion is to send emails asking those bidders why are they willing to pay such a price.

Call me crazy as you wish, but the Axim x50v I just got is absolutely fascinating; if I am to describe it in three words it would be “this is it!” Now I am really able to read journals and comics.

<<攻機2>>比預期還要好看：不單畫工比第一輯更上一層數，故事亦很不錯。不能少的還有主題曲”Rise”，很好聽。劇情來說這一輯多了交代主要角式的過去（原來素子也有過喜歡的男生^^)。大結局無論故事、動感或音樂都十分出色–我尤其喜歡塔其克馬唱歌那段情節，蠻感人的說…有點唏噓香港沒有成熟的動畫業。
